In case you missed it: Wyndham man winds up with $1M Weekday Windfall prize
Landing a division one prize is a sure-fire way to start checking off your bucket list items, and for a Tarneit man, it’s a double delight after he scored his second division one win in only a year!
This week’s Saturday lotto and Weekday Windfall game winners are celebrating their newfound fortunes and savouring memorable moments they’ll never forget. Check them out below:
A ticket to home ownership
A Wavell Heights woman is saying goodbye to mortgage repayments after winning more than $1.6 million in the Saturday Gold Lotto game on the weekend.
“I always play Saturday Gold Lotto and I won $400 recently. I thought that was the best thing ever, but this is even better,” she cheered.
“It’s going to go a long, long way. Knocking over the mortgage – that’s the plan. It will make a huge difference. That’s a big enough treat!
“When I see the home loan disappear completely, I will be partying. It will be like I’m working for myself after that.”
Safe keeping
Heading across to the city of roses and rodeos, a Warwick mother and son were in complete shock when their Saturday Gold Lotto ticket roped in a division one win!
“We’ve just been quite emotional. Even hearing you confirm the good news is crazy. We’re slowly realising it’s a reality,” the winning son explained.
“It’ll set my mum up completely. She’s everything, and she’s so deserving of this. It’ll give her breathing room, and she can do some things she’s always dreamed of.
“She asked me to check the ticket through my app, and I couldn’t believe it. I just started screaming and crying for her! She wasn’t even going to buy a ticket this week, but changed her mind Saturday morning.
“We’ve just been in limbo since then, and of course, we’ve put the ticket straight in a safe.”
Another windfall for Wyndham
Could a division one win be written in the stars? A Tarneit man is questioning that possibility after he laid claim to a $1 million Weekday Windfall prize – his second division one win in one year!
“It was such a coincidence because I originally meant to buy a ticket for the Monday draw, as that’s what I usually do, but I realised that I accidentally got a ticket into Friday’s draw. Isn’t that crazy?” he said.
“I’m so glad to have it confirmed. I’ve been waiting to tell my friends and family, but I wanted to make sure it was real first.
“It was actually earlier this year that I won $60,000 in a division one syndicate, and now this!
“My parents are into astrology, so I might need to pull up my birth chart and they can tell me if it was in the stars. I’m starting to think it’s a lucky year for me.”
Counting dollars, not sheep
And finally, despite a sleepless night, a Bairnsdale man was beaming with excitement when we called to confirm his $1 million Weekday Windfall division one prize!
“I checked my ticket at 9.30pm last night and honestly, I thought I was dreaming!” he exclaimed.
“I’ve probably played for three years, and never thought I’d win the big one. I’ve also always gone with random numbers.
“I called my sister right away and she was very happy and excited for me.
“It’s safe to say, I hardly slept last night!”
