In case you missed it: Queenslander’s charitable heart reaps rewards with Play For Purpose win
Looking for an opportunity to support the causes close to your heart? Check out the latest winners story from a south-east Queensland woman who purchased a Play For Purpose charity raffle ticket in support of The Rescue Collective!
Playing for a purpose
As if intertwined by fate, an animal-loving King Scrub woman purchased a winning Play For Purpose charity raffle ticket in support of her nominated charity, The Rescue Collective, unaware this entry would also see her taking home the $250,000 First Prize Pack! The Moreton Bay resident plans to pay it forward by rescuing animals.
“I’m a huge animal lover. I’m a huge softie and any animal cause always pulls at my heartstrings,” she said.
“The Rescue Collective are special to me because they’re local, and I’ve actually done volunteer work with them before.
“We’ve always had plans of getting rescue animals, but that’s all just been pie in the sky. Now we can make it a reality!”
Private syndicate scores big
Jet-setting down to Victoria, four Mornington Peninsula mates continued their celebrations into the work week after their 17-year-long private syndicate finally landed them a $2.1 million TattsLotto division one win.
“It’s been a funny couple of days! We’ve had the same TattsLotto entry going for 17 whole years and can’t believe it,” one of the winners shared.
“We’ve only ever won division three before, so it’s great to finally land division one.
“I told the other three guys the exciting news, and we had a virtual meeting over the weekend.”
A life-changing moment
Upon discovering a $200,000 win in a Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw, a Tenterfield woman was left stunned, speechless, and craving a quiet moment to collect her thoughts.
“I need to sit down. I’m so shocked and the tears are coming thick and fast,” she cried.
“Hold on a minute - I’m going to go tell my mum I’ve just won $200,000!
“This is going to do so much for me. It’ll help in more ways than you can imagine.”
Blue sky thinking
And a Cannonvale man couldn’t believe the news when we called to reveal he scored division one in the Saturday Gold Lotto game. With $2 million on route, the Queenslander shared his unique dream to spend the money building an emu racing track.
“I’ve been playing Saturday Gold Lotto for two years. I never expected for this to happen to me,” he shared.
“I could use the money to build an emu racing track on my property between Prosperine and Airlie Beach.
“I've loved emus since childhood and have always wondered if I could do such a thing. Now with $2 million – who knows!”
The next Play For Purpose charity raffle is open, with the prize pool now even bigger! By purchasing a $10 charity raffle ticket, at least 50% of your ticket purchase will go towards your chosen charity.
