Christmas cheer is in full swing, and our latest lottery winners are set to celebrate a winning year!

A Sydney Hills grandmother, who entered the latest Play For Purpose charity raffle to support her daughter’s battle with breast cancer, has now been rewarded with a $300,000 First Prize Pack!

Read more about her heartfelt act of giving back.

The season of giving

A Sydney woman’s good deed turned into a big win when she won the Play For Purpose First Prize Pack.

The grateful grandmother purchased her entry in support of the Breast Cancer Network Australia, after learning of her daughter's breast cancer diagnosis; completely unaware she’d also be scoring a brand-new Toyota Prado Kakadu and $188,000 in gold bullion!

“I bought this ticket because my daughter has been diagnosed with breast cancer,” the winning woman explained when we delivered the good news.

“Aren’t I lucky? I’m an old granny so I’m not good with my phone. The only thing I know how to do is text and buy my Lotto tickets. Anyway, I saw it while buying my usual tickets and saw Breast Cancer Network Australia. I thought of my daughter and thought that’s come up for a reason.

“I can give my daughter the car! Oh, my goodness me.

“Thank you so much. It’ll make for an amazing Christmas, and my grandchildren will be spoiled.”

Lamborghini dreams

Meanwhile, a North Lakes woman and her husband brainstormed exciting ways to spend their $900,000 division one prize once they realised they held a winning Saturday Gold Lotto entry.

“I wasn’t sure if it was real. I struggled to come to terms with it! I went to my husband to check and he immediately said, ‘No you’re lying!’,” the wife reminisced.

“The first thing my husband said he wanted to do was buy a Lamborghini and then we came to our senses. We said we would wait to receive a phone call for confirmation before celebrating.

“We’re going to visit an accountant to see how we can best make use of the prize. Perhaps we will invest. We’re not going to go out and spend it all!”

Setting sail with Super 66

Finally, holiday bliss awaits for a Somerville man as he sets sail this festive season with his Super 66 division one winning entry worth $277,000.

“You can’t believe how much this is going to do for me. I can’t believe this has happened,” he cried.

“I’ve just been reading the Sunday newspaper travel lift-out, thinking, ‘I wish I had enough money to go there’.  Well now, we’re going on a holiday. We’re going to go on a cruise!

“This amount of money is like $10 million to us!”
