In case you missed it: Queanbeyan woman wins entire $60M Powerball jackpot
A Queanbeyan woman’s split-second decision to change one number on her PowerHit ticket was all she needed to win the entire $60 million Powerball jackpot last night! And in Victoria, a Ballarat man also won big, snapping up a $20 million Oz Lotto prize.
Read about their winning reactions, plus more, from the week below.
A PowerHit ticket hit the $60M jackpot
“Up until 10 minutes ago, I had a mortgage.” That was the winning reaction of a Queanbeyan woman who realised her last-minute number swap on her PowerHit entry made her Australia’s newest multi-millionaire!
The New South Wales winner held the only division one winning entry in last night’s Powerball draw, pocketing the entire $60 million jackpot prize.
“My mouth’s gone all dry – this is insane. You have no idea how much my head is spinning right now,” she cried when we confirmed the good news.
“I actually changed one of the numbers on the PowerHit. I did a fast select on the ticket, but then then thought I had too many numbers in the 30s. I had 33 and 34, so I took out 33 and made it 5. How insane is that!
“I’m still young enough to enjoy this, share it with the family and make sure everyone’s comfortable for the rest of my life.”
Oz Lotto win has Ballarat man in a scramble
We interrupted breakfast plans for a Ballarat man with the news that he won $20 million in the Oz Lotto game! The Victorian winner was lost for words, quickly checking his ticket to see for himself.
“It says I’ve won 20 million dollars?! That can’t be right?” he questioned us excitedly.
“I’ve been playing Oz Lotto for 30 years. You just never think it will happen, and when it does, it’s mind-blowing.
“It will allow me to help my close family and friends.
“I’m already thinking of how much money I’ll distribute to my siblings.”
Frozen in place
Meanwhile, our winning call to a Mount Hutton man left him dazed when we confirmed he held the 1st Prize winning entry in the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot game.
“That’s insane! I can’t help but laugh. One hundred thousand dollars?!” he exclaimed.
“I’m just in the middle of jobs and now I’m frozen.
“I might have to spend the rest of the day contemplating it all.
“It’ll certainly be put to use as a house deposit.”
Sharing with those you love
Big celebrations are planned for a South Adelaide family after their private syndicate scored division one in a recent Weekday Windfall draw!
“There’s eight of us sharing the $1 million prize! Every week we play together and purchase a ticket,” one of the family members shared.
“I saw I had a few missed calls from The Lott after I finished my early morning shift, and I was wondering to myself what was going on! I was in so much shock when I first looked at it.
“It will make a huge difference in each of our lives.”
Have you tried playing a syndicate entry? Syndicates can give you a bigger entry and more chances to win. This might be a great one to try in this weekend’s $6 million Saturday lotto draw.
