One in five people experience mental illness each year and one life is lost to suicide every 40 seconds worldwide. But these numbers don’t have to define our future.

LIVIN, a not-for-profit organisation, is determined to change the conversation around mental health. By encouraging open dialogue and early intervention, LIVIN is working to ensure that seeking help is seen as a sign of strength, not weakness.

This year, The Lott by Golden Casket is continuing its support with a  $200,000 donation to empower LIVIN to make a tangible difference in the lives of young people across Queensland.

The Aussie organisation was founded in memory of Dwayne Lally, who was deeply loved by his friends and family, but like many people, lived in silence because of the stigma that surrounds mental health. Dwayne sadly took his own life, and that unimaginable loss ignited a movement to break the silence and challenge  the attitudes surrounding mental health.

Since it’s inception, LIVIN has become a driving force for change. Their vision is a future where suicide is no longer the leading cause of death among young Australians.

“With this support, LIVIN will be able to deliver their LIVINWell School Program to more than 10,000 students throughout Queensland,” The Lott Partnerships Manager Liz McPherson said.

“It’s about creating environments where young people feel safe to talk about their mental health and know that help is always available.”

LIVIN’s Co-founder, Casey Lyons, expressed deep gratitude for the community’s ongoing support. “It’s the generosity of partners like The Lott that allows us to keep moving forward,” he said.

“This donation means we can reach even more young people, equipping them with the knowledge and confidence to look after themselves and each other.”

You can support LIVIN by purchasing a Play for Purpose charity raffle ticket and also go in the draw to win a First Prize pack.
