In case you missed it: Naracoorte man returns home from holidays to a $900,000 win
Surprises come when we least expect them, especially when it’s a big win! Just ask our recent South Australian winner who discovered his major windfall after returning from an overseas holiday.
A welcome home surprise
A relaxing holiday vacation turned into a life-changing moment for a Naracoorte man after his Saturday X Lotto ticket revealed a $900,000 win.
“You wouldn’t believe it, the day after the draw, we went on holiday, so the ticket was sitting in my car for a whole two weeks until we got home,” he explained.
“While we were away, my wife said, ‘Wow. Someone won Saturday X Lotto in Naracoorte’. I joked and said, ‘It could be me, I have an unregistered ticket at home!’.
“We’ll have a nice quiet meal to celebrate, and we might just book another holiday now!”
If this was a registered ticket with The Lott Members Club, the Limestone Coast resident would have been united with his prize earlier.
Fast lane to freedom
We also celebrated a Berkeley couple who won division one in the Set for Life game this week! With $20,000 ready to land into their account every month for the next 20 years, the Central Coast duo is excited to cruise into retirement, with their first pit stop in Europe.
“This doesn’t feel real. I’ve wished my whole life for a phone call like this, but never in a million years did I think it would ever happen!” the winning wife shared with us.
“This better not be a gee up! Gosh, we’ve been looking forward to a few caravan trips with retirement but forget that! Europe, here we come!”
“I’m driving about 35km an hour and I’ve got a line-up of about 40 cars behind me because I’m going so carefully,” the husband added.
“This is the weirdest day ever! It’s just uncanny how everything’s fallen into place. Happy retirement to us!”
Fuzzy with fortune
Meanwhile, a Ballarat man felt a wave of brain fog overcome him after taking home the $25,000 top prize from a winning $2 Christmas Paws Instant Scratch-Its ticket. He plans to indulge in a fancy meal while coming to terms with his newfound fortune.
“When I realised I’d won the top prize, my brain went fuzzy, it was like I couldn’t think straight,” he said.
“At this stage, I’m not one hundred percent sure what I’ll use the prize for. I want to be smart with it.
“One thing’s for sure - I’m going to go out for dinner at one of those high-end restaurants.”
Birthday surprise
And finally, a Cowes man is lighting his birthday cake and chomping his way to financial freedom with a $100,000 top prize from a winning Instant Scratch-Its ticket.
“It was quite funny, when I scratched it, I realised I had a win and I thought, ‘Yay, I’ve probably won $5 or $10’. Then I scratched the prize amount, and I was gobsmacked!” he exclaimed.
“I thought it had to be some sort of fake ticket. I’m really glad it wasn’t!
“Amazingly, it was a present. My sister gifted me a few different Instant Scratch-Its tickets for my birthday. She sent them to me via mail, and they were sitting in my mailbox for probably a week before I got to them.”
