A winning Saturday in Samford Valley

Cheers echoed throughout Samford Valley this week after a local man checked his Saturday Gold Lotto entry and revealed his eye-watering $585,000 prize. 

“Wowie! Wowie! I’m absolutely beside myself,” he said giddily when we confirmed his win.

“I’ve been playing for a long, long time. I always get my set games and favourites but now and then, I’ll just get a random ticket, and this was one of them.

“You’ve made my day. We’ve been doing it tough with some health issues and other struggles, so this is life changing.

“We’ll also be able to help others with this. Thank you so much.”

Half a century played and now a division one win

Having played the same X Lotto numbers for decades, a Gawler man was overwhelmed to discover he won division one on the weekend – with his prize arriving just in time for a milestone celebration!

“I’ve had those numbers for about 40 years, and I’ve been playing for years and years – probably close to 50 years,” he shared.

“You couldn’t ask for a better birthday present!

“I’ll have to go and have a cup of tea. My mother always said if you get a shock, go and have a cup of tea.

“I don’t know exactly what we’ll do with the prize just yet, but the kids will certainly benefit.”

Mum’s the one, thanks to a Lucky Lotteries win

As an ultimate thank-you, a young Ringwood man has plans to treat his mum to an all-expenses paid shopping spree after pocketing $200,000 in a recent Lucky Lotteries draw. 

“I’ll be treating my mum to a shopping spree, and she can choose whatever she wants,” he stated. 

“I’m very grateful for everything my parents have done for me, and I want to give back to them as much as possible.

“The rest of the prize will be set aside as savings, and I’ll look to invest some.”

Scratching an unexpected win

Meanwhile, a Youngtown woman was flushed with excitement when she scratched a $100,000 top prize from a free Instant Scratch-Its ticket!

“I’ll grab an Instant Scratch-Its ticket every now and then and if I win a small prize, I’ll usually just get another ticket,” she explained. 

“It’s so crazy, the ticket I scratched last week gave me a $5 free ticket and it was that ticket that won me the top prize!

“I was sitting on the lounge when I scratched it, and I just kept checking the ticket over. Then I walked out to my husband and said, ‘I think we just won $100,000!’. He said, ‘No way!’.

“It wasn’t until I was filling out the prize claim that he started to actually believe me.”
