In case you missed it: Melbourne players enjoy $2.1M hat trick in one Saturday lotto draw
Melbourne celebrated a trifecta of wins this week following the weekend’s Saturday lotto draw! A Melton grandma, a Clyde couple and a Darebin woman each pocketed a $2.1 million TattsLotto prize. On top of that, a Campbelltown woman in New South Wales also scored $2 million in the Lotto Strike game.
You’ve won division one!
We can assure you that our winning calls aren’t a joke! After first thinking we were pulling a prank, a Melton grandma checked her ticket and discovered she’d actually won division one in the TattsLotto game.
“I thought you were my granddaughter making a joke!” she chuckled when we confirmed the news.
“I’ve been playing TattsLotto for many, many years – since it started. They were just random numbers I chose, and I’ve played them ever since.
“I’ve never won something like this before. It’s so unexpected.
“I’ll have a think about it. I’m sure I’ll help my grandkids.”
Fast tracking to retirement
A Clyde couple, who've also played TattsLotto for many years, can tick ‘winning the lottery’ off their bucket list after their QuickPick entry matched all six winning numbers.
“It’s pretty amazing. It means we don’t have to work for as long. We’ll be much happier!” the winning wife exclaimed.
“We’ve been playing TattsLotto for a long time! Decades. Sometimes we do a QuickPick, sometimes we choose our numbers.
“We’re over the moon. It’s life-changing.
“We might need to plan a family holiday!”
Sticking by your dreams
Meanwhile, a Darebin woman who always said she’s bound to win is now reaping a $2.1 million reward.
“At first, I kept thinking I was dreaming and then I’d keep working myself up thinking I had a dodgy ticket, or someone was pranking me,” she shared with us.
“The funny thing is I always tell my husband ‘I will win one day!’ so he did not believe me. I was like, ‘Mate, I’m not joking!’.
“Until it’s in my bank account; I don’t think I can even fully believe it either.
“It’s crazy. It’s just so crazy.”
Good fortune and good deeds
The best part of our job is hearing the incredible ways lottery winners plan to spend their prizes. A Campbelltown woman intends to share her $2 million Lotto Strike win with her parents, helping them buy a new home.
“I checked my ticket last night and couldn’t believe it! I only slept about three hours after that,” she said.
“I called my husband who was driving and I said, ‘You better pull over!’. I can’t repeat what he replied with but just know it was a lot of profanities.
“We’ve already spoken about it and first and foremost, we’re going to buy a house for my parents.
“They’re renting and it’s been tough for them. Then we’ll have a think about the rest. We’ll probably save it for a rainy day.”
Could this week get any more exciting? Well... yes! The Powerball jackpot has surged to $12 million for Thursday night in draw 1569. Be sure to register your entries to your members card, so we can call you if you win division one.
