In case you missed it: Newtown man discovers $20M prize from first-ever Oz Lotto ticket
Two weeks after the draw, a Sydney man checked his ticket to find he’d won a $20 million division one prize after buying his first ever Oz Lotto ticket. He shared that he normally purchases Powerball entries but this time, decided to switch things up.
Read about his story and others from the week just been.
Newtown’s newest millionaire
A Newtown man’s heart soared the moment he discovered he had won $20 million from the very first Oz Lotto game he played.
“I forgot to check this ticket and only remembered today. I had it kept in a drawer and forgot all about it,” he explained after we confirmed his win.
“You know what, this is my first Oz Lotto ticket. Something just told me to play this game.
“I usually play Powerball, but not all the time. But then a few weeks ago, I was getting a Powerball ticket and I thought I’d just get one for Oz Lotto too - something I’ve never done before.”
As the winning entry was unregistered, we had to wait until the New South Wales winner checked his ticket and came forward before we revealed the winning news. Don’t forget to register your entries with The Lott Members Club so you never miss a win!
Replay rolling in riches
An Echuca man also made a spontaneous decision when he chose to replay his TattsLotto ticket; only this time, his six chosen numbers won him the $1.6 million division one prize!
“When I looked, I thought, ‘f**k! I’ve got six numbers!’. I went all fuzzy,” he said.
“What’s funny is I had that ticket in a previous TattsLotto draw. It didn’t win, but something told me to take that ticket back and put it on again for the weekend.
“We’re debt-free! It just changes everything.
“We’ll celebrate! I’ve got some nice sausages tonight for dinner!”
As ‘Lucky Lotteries’ would have it
And “good things come in threes,” said a Nelson Bay man after his Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot ticket scored him the $200,000 1st Prize win. He looks forward to planning a long-awaited overseas holiday.
“First, I scored some free tickets, then I won $86 on a Powerball ticket, and now $200,000 today! Unreal!” he exclaimed.
“I’ve been wanting to do overseas travel since COVID times. I’m excited to book something for next year.
“It’s going to make a big difference. It’s going to take some time to sink in.”
Bright new beginnings
Meanwhile, a Melbourne woman’s life is off to a promising new start following the news of her $1.6 million TattsLotto win.
“I’ve had such a bad year this year, but 2026 is going to be so much better,” she confessed.
“I can’t believe it. My partner and I joke every week, ‘If we win TattsLotto tomorrow, we’ll do this and that’.
“Now I’ve won it, and we can make some of those dreams a reality.
“Thanks for making my day. Thanks for making my year. Thanks for making my life!”
