Could a lottery ticket send shivers down your spine and reveal a hauntingly big win this spooky season? Check out the chilling moment a Goulburn Valley man checked his TattsLotto entry, inciting a winning reaction that had his wife on the verge of dialing triple zero.

A late-night scare

From fright to delight! A Shepparton dad’s dramatic reaction to his $1.5 million TattsLotto win accidentally sent his wife into a panic.

“I had two tickets in the draw – the first one had won $100 and then I saw the win on this ticket. I couldn’t believe it. I thought to myself, ‘What’s going on here?!’” he explained.

“I walked out of the bedroom to my wife, and she thought I’d been shot or something!”

The couple now plans to use the prize money to spoil their kids and also embrace retirement.

“I can do a few things – help out our three children – and finally retire!” the winning man said.

An un-boo-lievable win

The lottery fever continued in New South Wales where an Oran Park man was wide-awake from the news of his winning Saturday Lotto ticket. With a $1.5 million prize headed his way, he debated whether to call an ambulance.

“I woke up at 2am in the morning to go to the bathroom, and I sleepily decided to check my ticket,” he said.

“I saw it and mate, to be honest, I truly was about to call an ambulance.

“I went from dead asleep to total excitement. I remember thinking, ‘I’m overexerting myself here!’, and I had to calm down.

“I have a business, and since COVID it’s been really tough. You have no idea how much it will help.”

Triple zero on speed dial

Another heart-stopping moment unfolded in Sydney when a Campbelltown woman, overwhelmed by the discovery of her $250,000 Instant Scratch-Its win, was prepared to call emergency services.

“I had to bring my husband in to claim the prize because I was too scared that I’d get too freaked out or excited and he would have to call the ambulance!” she exclaimed.

“It has come at the most perfect time, and it means I can catch up on some life responsibilities. I really need to get my gutters cleaned and now I can just hire someone to do it!

“I am going to be sensible with the prize and take it one step at a time.”

Riding for a win

And finally, a Coolangatta man is about to spend his Gold Lotto division one win on a new set of wheels – or at least two new wheels!

“I normally only ever win $9.60 or $15.40 here and there, but when I saw the $1.5 million win, I just said to myself, ‘Holy moly!’. I had to make sure it was real from all angles,” he shared.

“I’ll have to come claim the prize as soon as possible; it’s a momentous occasion!

“I am a bit conservative, so I might not buy a Porsche with the win, but I’ll definitely be getting a new bike. I love my cycling – provides me with exercise, mental wellness, and some friends!”
