Winning any lottery prize calls for celebration, but a quick double-check can make all the difference! Take a Baxter man, for example, who nearly overlooked his million-dollar TattsLotto win after miscounting the number of zeros.

“Wow! I won more than I thought!”

A Baxter man mistook his TattsLotto win for $1,600 rather than a whopping $1.6 million. Our winning phone call was the moment he realised his newly minted millionaire status.

“That’s fantastic. I was confused to why you were calling me. I had a quick look at it over the weekend, and I thought I’d won $1,600 – obviously not!” he said excitedly.

“This win will be good for everyone. It will help a lot of people around me.

“I’ve got to process this news before I can celebrate but maybe a nice dinner will be on the cards.”

Social scroll solves division one search

A Loganholme woman was prompted to check her ticket after seeing her local newsagency's social media post, only to discover she held the Gold Lotto division one winning entry being celebrated.

“The newsagency that we purchased the ticket from had posted on their Facebook page that they sold a division one winning entry over the weekend, and it reminded me that we purchased a ticket,” she explained.

“I checked the ticket immediately and it was a big shock.

“We’re going to plan to buy our very own home.

“Then we’ll put some away for the children’s futures.”

An instant birthday win

Instead of blowing out the birthday candles, a Toowoomba man scratched his way to a $100,000 lottery prize, thanks to a winning Instant Scratch-Its ticket gifted by his daughter.

“We didn’t know whether to believe if it was real or not. We thought that these sorts of things only happen to other people, not us,” the wife of the winning husband said.

“We’ve spent the past week convincing ourselves it’s fake. We were hoping it was real and now we know it is.

“We’ll give our daughter her fair share and then pay off our car and house.”

Counting zeros to fall asleep

Finally, a St Marys man was too giddy to fall asleep after scoring $100,000 in a recent Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw.

“I checked my ticket last night before bed, and I can’t even describe the feeling,” he said.

“I didn’t know what to do with myself.

“It was very hard to fall asleep.

“I’m feeling the shock all over again hearing you say I’ve won $100,000.”
