In case you missed it: Eight winning entries split $20M Superdraw prize
While we cherished the mother figures in our lives, last weekend also called for another special celebration – the $20 million Saturday lotto Superdraw!
Eight division one winning entries each secured $2.5 million from draw 4675. Three of the wins landed in Queensland, two in New South Wales, and one in Tasmania, South Australia and the Northern Territory.
Super wins for Mother’s Day
A Launceston couple’s leisurely Mother’s Day plan also included browsing real estate after their $2.5 million TattsLotto win was confirmed.
“No! This is a joke. This is really a joke. It can’t be true. You have no idea what this means,” the winning wife said.
“What a lovely Mother’s Day present,” the man added.
“We might just go look for our first home. We’ve always dreamt about it. We’ve always talked about it. We won’t be renting anymore!
“I might go buy a bottle of champagne this afternoon to celebrate!”
An early morning surprise
A Frenchville man was jolted out of bed on Sunday morning after discovering he was a multi-millionaire. With $2.5 million set to hit his bank account, the Central Queenslander plans to purchase a new home.
“Wow! I had no idea! I’m going to wake my wife up right now. She is asleep!” he exclaimed.
“We’ve won $2.5 million on the Lotto!
“We’ve got three kids, and every day can be challenging. This will really help set our family up for the future.
“We can look forward to buying a house too!”
Winning on a whim
Lottery lightning struck again in South Australia, with the latest Saturday X Lotto win snapped up by a Munno Para player. The Adelaide resident purchased his winning QuickPick entry from his local retailer after seeing the $20 million Superdraw advertised.
“Normally on a Sunday morning, I sit down to check my ticket and see if I’ve had a win,” he explained after we confirmed his prize.
“This time, I said to my wife, ‘come and check this, please’. I showed her the numbers on my phone, and I showed her the ticket… she was flabbergasted as well!
“I normally play a ticket with my own numbers, but because it was a $20 million Superdraw on the weekend, I picked up an extra ticket - a QuickPick. It must have been meant to be as I actually won on the QuickPick ticket I got on a whim.”
Winning numbers on display
Meanwhile, an Emerald couple did a double take after finally checking their lottery ticket to reveal a $2.5 million prize.
“I asked my wife to check our Gold Lotto ticket because I’m hopeless with computers,” he recounted.
“She kept saying, ‘Yeah, don’t worry I’ll do it!’ but then a few days passed and I asked her again, ‘Can you please check the ticket?’. She then again said she was busy.
“Then finally, she sat down at the dining table to scan the ticket.
“The next thing I knew, she threw her phone down and yelled, ‘Is this real?’. She almost had a heart attack!”
