In case you missed it: Oz Lotto Syndicate shares early $70M Easter treat
A group of Queenslanders are hopping into the long weekend with more than just chocolate and eggs, after they each scored a piece of Oz Lotto’s $70 million jackpot. Catch up on all the sweet highlights from this draw and more:
Sunshine state shines extra bright
Queensland is shining extra bright after 15 players across the Sunshine State shared Oz Lotto’s $70 million prize. The wins swept right up the coastline, stretching from the Gold Coast to Townsville, with each player pocketing a life-changing $4.7 million.
One of the winners, a Bribie Island man, was drifting off to sleep when he received the multi-million-dollar winning phone call.
“I was just falling asleep! Bloody hell!” he gasped.
“Oh my god, that’s so good. This changes our lives. We’ve been trying to get our first home, so this will do that.
“I’d happily wake up to hear your voice any day of the week!”
Further south, an Inala man erupted into screams of joy after the $4.7 million revelation that his life had changed forever.
“Oh my god! Oh my god!” he joyfully yelled.
“I thought you said I had won $47,000, but now it’s actually hit me that you said $4.7 million!
“It’s such a dream come true. My dad and sister are standing right in front of me, and now we’ve got my brother-in-law on speed dial.
“I can’t stop saying thank you!"
Happy days for Campbellfield dad
Meanwhile, a Campbellfield dad is looking forward to setting his son up for the best-possible future after discovering he’d won $200,000 in a recent Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw. The cheerful father tried his best to remain cool, calm, and collected as we surprised him with the winning news while he was at work.
“Oh, my goodness! I had to do a double take when checking my ticket,” he said.
“I’m at work at the moment, so I’m trying my best to contain my excitement.
“I tell you; this win has come at the best time as we’re trying to put my son through school.
“It will also take a solid chunk out of the mortgage. Happy days for us!”
Wedding surprises and Chinese takeaway
Another dad looking to lend his son a helping hand was a Maroochydore man, who thanks to his $110,000 Super 66 win, can now play a bigger role in his son’s wedding later this year. The elated winner shared he would celebrate with a simple pleasure — a Chinese takeaway feast.
“It’s so exciting. I couldn’t come to claim the prize quick enough!” he cheered.
“It’s come at the perfect time. My son is getting married later this year, and I really wanted to surprise him with something special.
“There’s no doubt I’ll be enjoying some Chinese takeaway for dinner.”
