Ring, ring! Imagine waking up to the news that you’ve won division one in the Saturday Lotto game. That was no dream for a Wagga Wagga man when we called to confirm his $1.6 million prize.

“Bloody oath. I don’t know what to say,” he said in shock.

“I had no idea. I’ve just been having a quiet morning.

“I only play every now and then. When there’s a big one, I’ll give it a go!

“The family is celebrating around me. This will do a fair bit. I’ll be able to clean up a few debts, pay off the mortgage, and enjoy some of the finer things in life.”

“We can’t believe it. I’m standing here wiping away tears,” she cried.

“Well first things first, I’ll be helping out my children.

The spirit of generosity continued in Queensland, when a Gympie man discovered his $100,000 top prize on a winning $5 Instant Scratch-Its ticket.

“It’s actually unreal to experience the winning feeling. It makes you feel very special,” he said. 

“Funnily enough, I received the winning ticket as a gift from the family during Christmas. I couldn’t believe that out of all the gifted tickets, mine was a winner.

“I had to double, and triple check the ticket. I thought I might have been seeing things.

“For us, it’ll go towards our bills and giving our children the best start at life.”

A festive and bright future

It was also a merry moment for a Logan woman when she scratched a winning $5 Merry Christmas Instant Scratch-Its ticket, uncovering her $100,000 top prize.

“I’m just so grateful. I don’t normally play Instant Scratch-Its, but I got this one as a gift for Christmas.

“I hadn’t scratched it until the other day, so it had just been sitting there.

“It was pretty crazy. I didn’t know I’d won at first and then when I realised, I just went ‘Oh my gosh!’. 

“I don’t think I’ll ever receive a better Christmas present in my life!”
