Helping others has been the theme of the week, with our latest lottery winners eager to spoil their loved ones, including a Newcastle man who won the entire $40 million Oz Lotto jackpot! The New South Wales resident was quick to call his family, promising to look after them. 

Forty million reasons to help others

A generous Newcastle man pledged to change the lives of others following the discovery of his $40 million Oz Lotto division one prize.

“This is the best phone call. Mate, you’ve no idea how many lives this is going to change,” he declared.

“I have rung everyone this morning and said, ‘your worries are going away - I’m going to look after all of you’.

“They say money doesn’t change your life. That’s rubbish! This just changed at least 10 people’s lives.”

Igniting a dream

A Burleigh mum’s week shifted gears when she learned she’d won $1 million in the Weekday Windfall game. She now plans to spoil her son with a new set of wheels.

“I was beside my husband and my eldest son and I immediately jumped on my son and said, ‘I think I’ve just won $1 million! Oh my god!’” she recounted.

“My son’s been saving up for his first car, but he doesn’t have quite have enough. But now, I can buy him one! He started browsing for cars last night.

“I did tell him not to get too carried away, though - everyone knows you beat up your first car!

“I’m also planning to help the family and give everyone some money. I love helping others and have always given back to charities.”

A weekend treat

A Gosford man is relaxing into the weekend indefinitely after we called to confirm his $200,000 Lucky Lotteries win.

“I’ve put you on speaker phone and my wife is beside me. We’re both grinning from ear to ear right now,” he cheered.

“I might finally be able to have some Saturdays off work. 

“I’ve been working six days a week for years, so I’ll now be able to slow down, relax, and spend more time with family which will be great.

“We’ll also be able to wipe out our mortgage. I can’t believe it!”

Brewing up a major prize

Meanwhile, a weekly tradition turned into a windfall for a Mermaid Beach man after he scratched a $100,000 winning Instant Scratch-Its ticket. 

“I play Instant Scratch-Its regularly. It’s a tradition I have where I go get one, then have a cup of coffee at a nearby café,” he explained.

“Once I won $750 on an Instant Scratch-Its ticket which was amazing. Now I’ve won $100,000!

“I’ve told my daughter who was very excited for me.

“I’m not sure how I’ll use the prize, but I think I’ll go out for tea to celebrate.”
