There’s nothing more frustrating than missing your flight and having to wait around at the airport. Despite experiencing this, a tired Melbourne mum made a spontaneous stopover at her local newsagency after arriving home, just in time to purchase a TattsLotto ticket; one that would soon land her a $800,000 win!

Read about her story and other winning news from the week just gone.

Taking off with a life-changing win

After 39 hours of travel time, an exhausted Mordialloc mum made the effort to still purchase a TattsLotto ticket from her local newsagency, unaware this last-minute decision would land her a share of the division one prize!

“I actually can’t believe it. It seems like it was meant to be. I was waiting in Dubai airport for 18 hours, and it took around 39 hours in total to get home,” she explained.

“I missed two flights, and I thought I was never going to make it back.

“When I got home, I was umming and ahhing about whether or not I should bother getting a ticket because I was so tired, and I was also going to go to a different newsagency to my normal one.

“But oh my god. I’m so glad I went to my local and still got the ticket!”

Unknowingly a millionaire

More than a week after a Weekday Windfall draw took place, a Shoal Bay man finally checked his lottery ticket that revealed his $1 million division one prize.

“I had no idea until today. I asked my neighbour for some help checking my ticket, up came the numbers and she just went, ‘I can’t breathe!’” he recounted.

“She then showed me the win, and I just thought ‘No, something has to be wrong!’.

“I only play a small, 4-game ticket, and I’ve been using these same numbers for the past 40 or 50 years now.”

Jumping for joy

A Doonside grandmother was thrilled to  discover she scored division one in the Saturday Lotto draw and was quick to call her family to share the exciting news.

“I rang the whole family, who all came over, and we were all jumping around like hairy goats,” she cheered.

“Thank you so very much. I’ve got so many people to help, from grandchildren to other family members.

“Everyone keeps asking me what I want to do for myself, but really, I’m just happy to have won division one!”

An all-expenses paid holiday

And also in New South Wales, a Hinchinbrook man is ready to splurge his 1st Prize Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot win on an upcoming overseas holiday.

“I’m shaking. I’ve never won anything like this in my entire life,” he exclaimed.

“It’s great timing! I’m heading to Bali soon and it means we won’t have to keep a close eye on the budget anymore.

“I think we might have to upgrade our accommodation to an all-inclusive resort.”
