Our lottery winners proved you really do have to be in it to win it, with their last-minute ticket purchases netting them division one wins!

A Beenleigh woman almost missed out on scoring her Saturday Gold Lotto prize after being caught up washing her dogs, only managing to buy her winning ticket five minutes before the draw closed. Read her story below.

In the nick of time

After grabbing her entry with only minutes left to spare before the Saturday Gold Lotto draw closed, a Beenleigh woman is now taking home a life-changing $1.3 million!

“I was busy washing the dogs on Saturday evening when I suddenly realised there was only five minutes left before the draw closed,” she explained.

“I checked the ticket straight after the draw on Saturday and I couldn’t get to sleep. My heart was racing 200 miles an hour!

“My kids are my priority, and I’ll be purchasing our very first home so they can live more comfortably! I can’t believe it:a home in my name!

“You should’ve seen the look on my kids’ faces when I told them I’d won $1.3 million. Their jaws hit the floor.”

Forty and fabulous

Forty never felt so good for a Pyrmont woman who is now planning an extravagant birthday celebration, thanks to her Saturday Lotto division one win.

“I missed your calls this morning but when I saw who was calling, I quickly checked my app, and I think I opened and closed it about 1,000 times after I saw how much I’d won.” she exclaimed.

“I’m going to buy an apartment!

“It’s also my 40th birthday next year. I’ve been wanting to plan something big for that, so now I definitely can.

“It’s my biggest birthday present ever!”

It’s the real deal

Meanwhile, a Mernda man was over-the-moon to discover he won $1 million in the Weekday Windfall game. He plans to clear his mortgage and spoil the family.

“Wow. You often discuss what you would do if you won $1 million,” he said.

“We’ve got a little bit on the mortgage left, and we thought it would take a few more years to pay off, but now we’ll be able to pay it off completely!

“I’m also in my mid-50s now, so I want to be really sensible so my kids can enjoy the prize for years to come.

“We already have a fabulous life – my wife and I – but this will make our life even more fabulous!”

A mega surprise

And finally, a Quakers Hill man was in complete shock and awe when we revealed that he won $200,000 in a recent Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw.

“I honestly don’t know what to do with myself - $200,000 is a lot of money,” he said.

“I’ve had a lot of health issues in the past, and I’m really lucky to be here today, so this is just great news.

“I might even go on a long holiday, which is something I never thought I’d be able to do.”

If you’re thinking about what could be and the ‘what ifs’, this week's winners proved lottery lightning could strike at any time – just as long as you've got your entry in before the draw close.
