In case you missed it: Brisbane man nabs $3M Gold Lotto win while Tasmanian woman scores $5M Powerball prize!
The benefits of being a member! A Sunnybank father hadn’t realised he was holding on to a $3 million Saturday Gold Lotto win until we called him the next morning to break the big news.
Meanwhile, Tasmania marked their fourth major lottery win this year after a Launceston grandmother won the entire $5 million Powerball jackpot in last night’s draw!
Benefits of The Lott Members Club
A $3 million Saturday Gold Lotto win nearly slipped through the fingers of a Sunnybank dad, who hadn’t realised he was holding on to a winning ticket until we called him the next morning.
“I’m struggling to think. I haven’t even had my coffee and I can’t stop shaking. I’ve been shaking for hours,” he confessed.
Fortunately, the Brisbane resident had registered his 12-game System 7 entry to The Lott Members Club, which allowed us to confirm his multi-million-dollar status. Joining is free and allows you to enjoy a great range of benefits, including prize protection!
“It’s amazing. I didn’t even notice the win! I had checked my tickets yesterday and I completely missed the win. I’ve been too busy at work to look at my tickets properly,” he said.
“I think I need to sit down and reflect on what has happened. It’s not every day that you win $3 million!
“This will help my family in so many ways. We will be able to buy a house, which is so exciting.”
Tasmanian woman heads off to retirement
From hospital waiting rooms to the winners' lounge, a Launceston grandmother discovered she held the only division one winning entry in the $5 million Powerball draw! While waiting for her hospital appointment, she decided to purchase a Powerball ticket to pass the time.
“It’s beautiful! I checked the win last night and I haven’t slept a wink. I laid next to my phone with the prize amount right beside me all night - couldn’t take my eyes off it!” she exclaimed.
“I told my husband that we’d won last night and he was in so much shock. I think it will take a while before we can both believe the news.
“I can finally retire, which has come at the most perfect time because I’m having some health issues.
“I will be spoiling my children and grandchildren – buying them houses!”
Decades-old numbers land a $1 million windfall
An Erskine Park woman blanked the moment her Weekday Windfall ticket – shared with her partner and another couple – won division one! The New South Wales resident was watching the draw on television when her group’s winning numbers appeared on screen.
“I don’t normally watch the draw, but it just so happened I was out and about when it came up on TV. I thought ‘Hang on a moment, that’s our numbers!’” she recalled.
“We’ve been playing these numbers for 40 years so I couldn’t believe my eyes. I knew for sure they were ours, but I wanted to be sure I wasn’t seeing things.
“I’m still in shock. Although I saw it last night, I didn’t want to get too excited before it was confirmed.”
A call that stops you in your tracks
Finally, a St Ives mum had goosebumps when we called to confirm she was the sole division one winner in a Weekday Windfall draw. The Sydneysider was in the middle of a school drop-off when she picked up the million-dollar call.
“It’s funny, I only answered because my son said, ‘Mum, you better get that, they’ve called twice so it might be important’. It sure was important!” she chuckled after answering our call via her car speakerphone.
“I don’t play every week, but I do always use the same numbers, and I just get a ticket whenever I feel the urge.
“I have been trying to continue this Weekday Windfall ticket because I’ve had a bit of luck with it. Well, a lot of luck now! I’d get $15 here and there, which is why I stuck with it.
“You’ve made my day! I feel so blessed. We’ll be able to put a deposit down on a house.”
