In case you missed it: Berridale man keeps ambulance on speed dial after dizzying $1.2 million discovery
Fainting, tears of joy, and hearts full of hope; it’s been a wild ride of winning emotions over the past week as we broke the life-changing news to our major prize winners. Here’s some of the winning moments:
Delirious with dollars
A Berridale man was left in dire need of a lie down, unsure whether he was about to laugh or cry, after discovering the news he’d bagged $1.2 million in the weekend’s Saturday Lotto draw. Despite feeling delirious with dollars, the winning man shared he’d still make his way into work that day, but looked forward to celebrating with his family after.
“No way! Bloody oath!” he cheered.
“That’s just awesome. I think I’m about to faint.
“I’ve still got to head to work today, but I’ll definitely be celebrating with family when I can.”
Plans to pay it forward
As our Berridale winner took a moment to process the enormity of his win, a dad from Frankston was gearing up to live out his motto: "If you help others, good karma will help you." After winning $1.2 million in the weekend's TattsLotto draw, the generous father declared he'll share his newfound fortune with his nearest and dearest.
“I couldn’t believe my eyes when I checked the TattsLotto results on the weekend,” he cheered.
“It’s come at the most perfect time as retirement is just around the corner. I’ve worked hard all my life. I once had five jobs at the same time. I’m very much ready to retire.
“I’m also a big believer in helping others. Traditionally, where I’m from, when you receive something, you have to gift and pass it on. If you help others, good karma will help you!
“I’ll be giving $100,000 to my daughter and $1,000 to individual family and friends facing difficulties.”
Two Melburnians beat the Monday blues
The wins continued down south, with two Melburnians waltzing into the week with a Lucky Lotteries win each. It’s safe to say these elated winners are in for an extra-sweet Easter, with their $100,000 1st Prizes arriving just in time for the holidays.
One of the winners, a Yallambie mother, was filled with hope and excitement by the life-enhancing news she’d won $100,000.
“It feels a bit surreal. Oh my god!” she gasped.
“I’ve been having a really crappy year with family who have been sick. So, this just feels amazing.”
Meanwhile, a Taylors Lakes man tried his very best to remain cool, calm and collected as he received a winning call from us while at work.
“That’s a lovely surprise,” he said.
“I’m just at work at the moment, so I’m trying my best to keep my cool.
“I’ll do a happy dance and celebrate when I’m not at work.”
