In case you missed it: Historic $6.4 million Saturday Lotto winner almost missed out on a ticket
Hearts of gold and a whole lot of lottery love. This week we reveled in the magical moments transforming everyday Aussie lives, including our biggest ever Saturday Lotto winner! Celebrate all the exciting wins below!
More than a fluke
It was history in the making for a Castle Hill mum after she discovered her new multi-millionaire status as Saturday Lotto’s biggest individual winner to date. But, the mammoth $6.4 million prize wouldn’t have been possible without some help.
Unable to venture to her local newsagency before the draw’s close, the Sydneysider called on her son to purchase a ticket from his online account.
“She’ll be very glad she didn’t miss out on a ticket. This will be life-changing for her,” the winning son revealed to us.
“I’ll have to make sure she’s sitting down when I tell her the news. She’s going to lose her mind.
“She’s been playing for 40-odd years, if not more! She usually chooses her numbers, but this one was just a QuickPick.
“My head is spinning. The one day it finally comes in for my mother and she’s the only winner and it’s the biggest one yet! That’s amazing.”
Dreaming of a windfall
Not a wink of sleep’s been seen for a South Wollongong man, who spent the night dreaming of serendipity thanks to his $1 million Weekday Windfall win.
“I’ve been waiting for your call!” he exclaimed.
“I couldn’t believe my eyes. I saw the winning numbers and I thought, ‘Hang on. Those are all my numbers. Am I looking at the right thing?’.
“I said to my wife, ‘What the hell do we do with all this money?’. Then we just stayed up for hours talking about 100 different ideas.”
Pinch me moment!
And the second time’s the charm for a Mount Everlyn man, who was in utter disbelief after landing a $100,000 1st Prize winning entry in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot.
“You have no idea how good it is,” the chuffed winner said.
“I get so many prank calls these days, so it’s hard to believe this is real.
“I just got home. Oh my god. I’m going to tell the missus now and let her know.
“I go for a lot of different games. This is the second time I’ve played Lucky Lotteries.”
Sight set on a brighter future
Down south, a Glengowrie man is beyond grateful to lean on his best mate whose life-changing call landed him a $200,000 Keno win.
“I didn’t believe it,” he said.
“I had already left the venue and one of my friends rang me. He told me that I had won the jackpot prize, and I told him that he was talking rubbish!
“The first thing I’ll be doing is getting laser eye surgery. I won’t have to wear glasses anymore, and I’ll see better for work. It’s great!”
