Extra, extra, read all about it! Our lottery winners this week are in the spotlight - including one New South Wales resident who is now $1 million richer after catching a glimpse of their faithfully played numbers in the local paper.

It’s a real page-turner of stories; check them out below!

Headlining the win

Hot off the press: An Oakleigh grandfather landed a $1 million Weekday Windfall win after spotting his cherished set of numbers in the newspaper by chance.

“It’s been so surreal. I’ve played these exact numbers since I was 18 years old and I’m now in my 60s,” he explained.

“It’s funny, I had actually found out the win by a fluke. I was sitting there reading the paper and I noticed the first two numbers in the lottery results section were my numbers.

“I just had this feeling that I had won something big. I kept reading, and they were all my numbers! I couldn’t believe it.

“We’ve already booked a family holiday, but we’re thinking of upgrading the flights to first class. The first thing my wife said when I told her about the win was, ‘I’m going to shout myself first-class!”

Roll the credits

Crossing live to New South Wales, a Wauchope man feels like the star of his own television show after taking home the only division one winning entry in Lotto Strike.

“It doesn’t feel real. I’ve been feeling like I’m in a dream or I’m a character in a TV show,” he said.

“I’m so excited. I’ve got tingles all over, and I seriously can’t stop smiling.

“My dad has always said, ‘You got to be in it to win it.’. I’ve been playing since I was old enough to play.

“I’ll be able to buy my lady some diamond earrings, and I’d love to get a motorcycle. I can also use it towards my house.”

Fields of fortune

Winding north of Melbourne, a Hurstbridge farmer is headed for greener pastures after his TattsLotto ticket yielded more than $1.6 million from the weekend’s draw.

“This is unbelievable. Am I awake right now? I feel like I’m dreaming,” he said in disbelief.

“You’re a godsend. I have a farm and it’s tough. You have no idea how much this is going to help.

“Crikey. Absolutely wow. This is the best news I’ve had in a long time. It’s life-changing.”

Seventh Heaven

And finally, a Shell Cove retiree is shouting themselves a winning meal while cheering to the number seven, after scoring the $100,000 1st Prize entry in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot.

“Today is my lucky day. I was just saying to my wife it’s the seventh of the seventh and then you called. Perhaps it was some sort of omen. I think seven might be my new favourite number,” the winning man shared.

“This is going to help a great deal. We’ve dreamt of winning this for years.

“We’ve been thinking of moving house, and this could be the boost we needed.

“I think tonight we’ll go out for dinner and get the top-of-the-line menu instead of the pensioners.”

What are your favourite numbers to play? You could follow in the footsteps of our Wauchope winner and “be in it to win it” by grabbing an entry in store, online or via The Lott app – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
