Coffs Harbour woman wakes up friends with $2.5 million Saturday Lotto surprise
A Coffs Harbour woman didn’t hesitate to wake her lifelong friends in the middle of the night, banging on doors and dragging them to her house, to reveal their private syndicate just scored $2.5 million in Saturday Lotto.
The New South Wales residents held one of the eight division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Lotto draw 4559, drawn Saturday 29 March 2025. Each division one winning entry can look forward to $2.5 million.
The syndicate leader discovered the win during a late-night ticket check but struggled to believe her eyes.
“It’s amazing! It’s a group of us that won, and we’ve been friends for over 30 years,” she said.
“I checked my ticket in bed while I was trying to sleep. I had my glasses on, but I thought I was seeing double.
“I kept cleaning my glasses and checking again. Then I finally realised what I was seeing was right!
“I thought ‘Oh my god!’. I couldn’t wait to tell the rest of the group.
“I went around to all their houses, banging on their doors and waking them up. Then I brought them all to my place and broke the news.
“We’re all so excited. It’s incredible.
“We’re planning to go out for dinner to celebrate.
“It’s going to be wonderful seeing the money in our accounts. By then, I might have more of an idea of what I’ll spend it on!”
Their winning marked System 8 entry was purchased via The Lott app – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
