A Cabramatta man is feeling incredibly grateful after a spontaneous Instant Scratch-Its ticket purchase scored him a top prize of $1,000 a week for the next five years.

The Western Sydney resident’s winning $5 Live the Life Instant Scratch-Its ticket was purchased at Mitchum Newsagency, Shop 2, 81-83 John Street, Cabramatta.

When we reached out to the delighted man, he revealed he rarely bought Instant Scratch-Its tickets but had picked one up on a whim during a visit to his local newsagency.

“I feel very lucky. It’s a life-changing experience for me,” he shared.

“You never think it’s going to be you that picks up the top prize. It could happen to anyone.

“It was a pretty random ticket, a spur-of-the-moment thing.

“I never play, I’m not a regular player, but I was at the newsagency and decided to treat myself to multiple that day.

“I’m honestly so grateful; very lucky.

“Thank you so much!”

With $1,000 set to land in his bank account each week for the next five years, the New South Welshman said the unexpected windfall would bring him peace of mind.

“I’m definitely going to save it and use it to build a nest egg,” he said.

“But there’s no doubt that I’ll be treating myself to a holiday in the future!”
