How do I play Instant Scratch-Its tickets?

Can I buy Instant Scratch-Its tickets online?

Sorry, Instant Scratch-Its tickets can't be bought online. Simply swing by your nearest retailer to grab your favourite tickets. Then, let the fun begin—because every ticket is a chance to win! 

What are my chances of winning?

The chance of winning a prize on an Instant Scratch-Its ticket is roughly 1 in 4. This may change depending on the total number of tickets printed for any given Instant Scratch-Its ticket.

These odds are based on the total number of tickets in a game (which vary for each type of ticket), so before you go buying four tickets, just know it doesn’t guarantee a win (we wish!). Remember, it’s possible that some—or even all—the prizes were already claimed before you grabbed your ticket.

How do I check my Instant Scratch-Its ticket?

There are three ways you can check if your Instant-Scratch-Its ticket is a winner.

1. Check your ticket online: First, you will need to have an online account with The Lott. You can find more information about creating an account here. All Instant Scratch-Its tickets can use the feature.

Head to our Check My Ticket page or in the App, select Scan Your Tickets at the top.

2. Check your ticket in-store: Non-members can still check if their Instant Scratch-Its ticket has won a prize using the self-service checker in-store, or your friendly retailer can check them for you at the counter.

3. Use the Self Check panel: You can also use the Self Check panel marked by a ☑ on the front of all tickets $5 and above. Scratch the Self Check panel and if the two Self Check Codes exactly match any of the Self Check Codes appearing in any of the game panels, the ticket has won a prize.

Don’t forget, eligible non-winning tickets can be entered into the Instant Scratch-Its 2nd Chance Draw.

  

How do I claim my prize?

Woohoo, you won! Now how do you get your prize?

Prizes less than $1,500? Just stroll into any The Lott retailer that sells Instant Scratch-Its tickets, hand over your ticket, and boom—instant payout. Prizes up to $3,999.99 may be claimed in store, subject to the outlet's discretion

Won big? ($1,500 or more) Swing by our Head Office to claim your prize in person and you’ll get paid via EFT.

To claim in person, bring:

  • Your original winning ticket
  • A valid ID (like your Driver’s Licence or Passport

Pop your name, address, postcode, phone number, and signature on the back of your winning ticket—think of it as giving your ticket its own little ID card before you cash it in!

Prefer to claim by mail?
No worries. Fill out our Prize Claim Form, pop it in an envelope with your original winning ticket (make a copy first, just in case), slap on a postage stamp, and send it to the address listed on the form.

You can download a Prize Claim Form here, or pick one up in person at your local The Lott retailer. Once it lands in our hands, you’ll usually see your cash roll in within 10 working days. 

What if my ticket was purchased interstate?

Instant Scratch-Its tickets are available all over Australia (except WA—sorry, mates!), but here’s the deal: you have to claim your prize in the State where you bought the ticket. Don’t worry—we’re not about to make you book a flight just to cash in. You can simply claim your prize by mail using one of the Prize Claim Forms.

How do I enter the 2nd Chance Draw?
